Kathmandu: Nepal’s travel and tourism industry’s contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP) stood at 3.6 percent as the economic activities in the sector generated 800 million U.S. dollars, a report of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) revealed.
The global body representing the travel and tourism private sector stated that the contribution of the travel and tourism sector to the economy has been calculated based on income generated by industries such as hotels, travel agents, airlines and other passenger transportation.
