Vice-President of the Nepali Congress and its Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chandra Poudel pledged that his party would extend its full support to the upcoming Nepal Tourism Year 2011 by not organising strikes, blockades and bandhs.
At a meeting with an NTY-2011 delegation on Tuesday, leader Poudel said commitment should come not only from leaders but also from cadres. "It is necessary for all the parties to convey this message to their lowest-level cadres that they should not organise strikes during the celebration of NTY-2011 because of its important contribution to the national economy," he said.
The NTY team apprised him of the tourism event and preparations being made for its launching.
The NC leader assigned Nabindra Raj Joshi, Member of the Constituent Assembly and spokesperson of Parliamentary Party, to communicate with the party regarding it.
